What is Resilience?
What did I learn?
I learnt that resilience is something that can apply to any situation. It also means
to not accept defeat straight away and to keep on trying

Why is this important?
I think resilience is important otherwise we wouldn’t have many things we have today, such as
the light bulb, someone reaching the top of Mt Everest, pictures of space, etc.
If someone gave up everytime they failed or got tired, nothing would get done.

How could you use this in your own life?
Things such as art, learning a new song on the ukulele/guitar, maths, among other things. Whenever I
feel like I can’t do it or am fed up with it instead, I can push through and finish it and show resilience.

Evidence of my work:

Relaxing
What did I learn?
I learnt that whenever I’m stressed or just need a break I should just relax for a while

Why is this important?
Relaxing is important because we would otherwise constantly be stressed/worried.
Relaxing allows us to calm down and take a break from things

How could you use this in your own life?
Whenever I get stressed or overwhelmed I can use my relaxation skills to take a break and
just calm down

Example of me doing stuff:
writing down some of my surroundings

Mindfulness
What did I learn?
I learnt ways to ground myself and to clear my mind of any thoughts or problems I had

Why is this the important?
Mindfulness is important as it allows you to ground yourself and make you aware of your surroundings.
Among other things it also lets you acknowledge your surroundings.

How could I use this in my own life?
Every now and then I could meditate or take a walk to clear my mind whenever it becomes too much.
I can also start taking my time and acknowledge food when I'm eating, as to savor the flavor.

Proof of work:

Empathy
What did I learn?
During the empathy unit I learnt that empathy is something that can easily be put into practise and can
help build a strong connection with others.

Why is empathy important?
Being able to emphasize with others allows you to create strong relationships and gain the trust of others.
It also can help you figure out the needs of others and what help they might need/want

How could I use this in my own life?
One way I can do this is before I say something to someone, I can think about how they might react and if
there are any consequences. This way I won’t damage a relationship that I might like/enjoy having.

Proof of work:

Thought Challenges:
What did I learn?
The best way to help negative thoughts is to come with something that can challenge that thought and
turn it into a good thought.
Why is the concept of thought challenges important?
I think it’s important to challenge negative thoughts, otherwise we would constantly have just negative
thoughts in our heads. This might begin to also make us depressed and believe we are unable to do
anything.

How can I apply this to my own life?
Whenever I start to have a negative thought I can try my best to think of a thought challenger, eg: if I
start to think I’m unable to do maths I can say “But I can always improve my maths skills”.
