I wrote a 100 word story and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be - english

George opened the cavern door and made his way downstairs. As he descended the stairs it became lighter and lighter until he reached an open room. Prior to this George went out and stole the louvre. On the back wall was the famous “The Shaking Shading Shakespeare” painting. It was painted by Pie O’hara, and George had done it, he stole it. He grabs a black marker and dramatically reaches up and he does it. He draws a twirly mustache on the paintings face. What was he to do now? Will he return the painting? We will never find out

Similish is an actual language and I'm done

I'm supposed to do this in a certain format but scrap that I'm writing this at 11pm and we don't need formats. Also this is for english where each week you chose something to learn about.

So if you play the Sims you'll notice that the people speak another language. This is called similish and you can actually translate it. Yes, that's right people have translated it into english, here's a blog and before you ask, yes, there is a wikihow. The most interesting thing is the music that is in Similish and how they make them. You might be playing a game of Sims and all of a sudden a song that sounds reeeeaaaallly similar to Katy Perry's last Friday night comes on, you then go through a three step thought process;

  1. Is that Katy Perry's Last Friday night song?
  2. Wait is that Katy Perry?
  3. Nooooo that can't be Katy Perry
Well, actually, that is Katy Perry. The Sims, got Katy Perry to sing in a made up language. Don't believe me?

There are artists such as Paramore, Jason Durelo, My Chemical Romance, Echosmith, Flo Rida, Patrick Stump of Fall out boy, The Black Eyed Peas, Zedd, All Time Low, Carly Rae Japsen, The Vamps, Tori Kelly, Grace Vanderwaal, Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness, more. These are also only in The Sims 4. There's also The Pussycat's song Don't Cha', Lily Allen, The Veronicas. Here is a full list

There are also people who only know the similish version of a song and know the whole song in fluent similish. Yes that's right fluent similish. That's about it for now.
I got most of this information off the video below

DICtators (see what I did there)

In social studies we are learning about different forms of government. One of those forms of governments is dictatorship. We had to list things that make a dictator.

The image says things such as:
- Harrasing
- Thrist for power
- Greedy
- Selfish
- Think they are in the right
- Wishes for absolute power
- Try to control media
- Manipulative

Socialism at the moment seems like the only form of government that won't kill me

In social studies we're learning about forms of governments. We learnt about dictatorship, communism, and socialism. At the moment I believe the socialism is good because I like the idea that people have to work to earn their pay, I don't like the fact the in communism everyone gets treated the same, even if they didn't do anything to help. Socialism is much more open to different ideas while communism and dictatorship are much more about having a set of rules and sticking to them. Also at the moment New Zealand follows most socialist ideas and I'm not dead yet so I think it's going alright

Look my writing that I don't like lol

In english our prompt was pictures of floating houses. My little thing that I did is being continued from another prompt so yeah here's that.

We open the next door and look inside. “Oh thank god a house, something normal for once”. The house looked like something my Great-Grandmother would live in. The couch had THAT flower design on it, you know the one that just screams ugly? Yeah that one. Against one of the walls was a tall cabinet filled with china plates. We enter the house and I thought we were in the girls locker room due to the smell. Honest to god it smelt as if someone sprayed impulse spray absolutely everywhere. Actually no, mix impulse spray and lynx spray together and then spray THAT into your face. That should be a form of torture. We go to look out a window to try and figure out where we are. That did not happen. We look out and Oh look we’re in tHe F*CkInG aIR wTF. I look over at samuel and I can see him slowly losing his mind. His eye look wide as he does the *pray crouch. He does an inside scream that sounded more like a growl. He wasn't mad, he was pissed off.

I would do more but it needs to be upload now.

oh yeah also

Wow look at all those scripts

Romeo and Juliet - Balcony Scene
We were thinking of doing this scene but ultimatly decided not to. The pros of doing this scene was that we could play around with it a bit, but there were three of us and the scene was for two people

God I hate shakespeare - something rotten
We almost went with this except for the part there was a smal ensembale and a couple of swear words. It's a good song and suggest you listen to it

Wicked - literally anything
"Maybe something from Wicked?" we thought but the problem with songs from wicked, is that most of the  notes in the songs are extremely hard to hit and are long and just everything. Oh well.

We decided to go with a scene from one man two guvnors. We have yet to decide which scene as 1/3 of our group is gone on a trip but will be back soon.

I know stuff about politics now

New Zealand government is fairly simple to understand once it's explained. There are three different branches of government - Parliament, Executive branch, and the Judiciary. The parliament is where the MPs (Memebers of Parliament) sit. New Zealand has an MMP (mixed member porpotion)  form of parliament. This is explained in the video below.

The Parliament create new laws and update old ones, they also represent New Zealanders, examine and approve what the government spend their money on, etc. There is also the Executive branch. They are the actual Government and do most things such as propose new laws, decides policies, decided what we should spend money on, etc. Democracy is used in NZ which means we have an election every three years, we have fair votes, and our head of state is Queen Elizabeth ll and is represented by Governor - General Dame Patsy Reddy.

Then we have The Judiciary. They are our Judges and interpret the law in cases that come before the court and review desicions in the Government. They do judge things. Yeah so I don't know what to say about I mean their Judges and have the ability to send people to jail. Anyway here is a a chart to explain it all.

In New Zealand we have 7 political partys - National, Green, Labour, New Zealand 1st, Maori and ACT. At the moment our Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, is part of the Labour Party.

Stan walker's pretty cool - Drama

  • What style of music is this/ who performs it/ what inspired them to write it?
- Stan walker wrote this song so it would premiere during Maori language. It's hard to define the genres of music anymore so yeah
  • What did you like about the music?
- I dont't know it's not really the type of music I usually listen too.
  • What did you like about the video?
It shows NZ people which is pretty cool
  • Find out what the song is about, can you find a translation of some of the lyrics?

It's about NZ so that's cool

Matatriki's coming up so we're gonna be putting on a play about stars

What is matatriki?

Image result for matariki
- Matariki is the Maori new year. It is believed that Matariki is the mother and the stars are her daughters. Matariki, if you don't know is the Maori new year and is a cluster of 7 stars. There are many interpretations of the tale of Matariki. The two bigger ones are it's either about 7 sisters or it's a story about the children of Papatuanuku, the Earthmother, and Ranginui, the Skyfather and their seperation. Matariki is usually celebrated around the world where they have winter. In more tropical places they do not celebrate Matariki.

There are seven stars and each star has a name as seen right.

Wow we're learning about good old Queen Liz

So in Social studies we're learning about form of goverments and at the moment we're looking at royal families and dictatorship. We had to make a mindmap with 10 facts about Royals
